Haruto Bouida (房伊田 春人, Bōida Haruto) is a main character in the Over Drive Girl 1/6 manga and Over Drive Girls manga by Öyster, as well as the anime adaptation.

A programmer and otaku who likes 2D characters over real girls. He likes watching anime and playing games. He likes the character Nona from the Shōjo⇒Wakusei Tansa (Girl⇒Planetary Probe) anime, but actually likes many other characters. [1]

Appearance[]

Haruto is an average looking man with glasses and lighter brown hair in front and darker on the back, wearing usually some shirt and jeans.

Personality[]

A self-proclaimed otaku, he loves spending his time playing games and watching anime. His obsession with them is so great that he doesn't has any interest in real women and is only interested in 2D girls and would passionately explain to people why they are better. His obsession for Nona was so great, he even made a marriage registration with her.

Plot[]

When Haruto got home, he was surprised when he found out the doll her purchased started to move and speak. Amazed at first at how much the figurine technology has advanced and understanding Nona thinks she was still in her anime world, he decided to play along and invited her to stay with him and keep doing her mission. When Ozma, Nona's support robot started to move and speak too, Haruto ended up explaining the truth to Nona. Shocked and unaccepting the truth, Haruto comforted her and told her he loved her. When Nona found the marriage registration Haruto had with her, she accepted him for a husband, but didn't wanted him to watch any other anime or play a video game. Haruto agreed to that, but after a dinner with his friend and Nona listening and finding out how much he carried for her, she allowed him to play games.

As a new figurine from a video game he brought up started to move and solving the situation with her, she transported him in her world.

Etymology[]

  • The name Haruto means "spring" (春) (haru) and "person" (人) (to).
  • Haruto's surname Bouida means "chamber, bunch, tuft, tassel, fringe, lock (hair), segment (orange), house, room" (房) (bou), "that one" (伊) (i), and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
